Jaguars are very capable of finding their food and controlling their diet, in which eating only meat makes them carnivores. Even though jaguars are known for chasing their enemies/food, they’ll climb a tree and attack their enemies when they least expect it. Jaguars food mainly consists of forest animals ranging from a small mouse, to as large as a deer. If jaguars come across humans they will believe that they’re just another animal that they can eat. Since they’re also great swimmers they can have a normal diet of amphibians, some type of reptiles, or even fish.

Jaguars are not the only kind of cat species that eat monkeys, leopards, cougars, and even ocelots all eat different kinds of monkeys and chimpanzees. But as it may be good for those cat species, lots of monkeys and chimpanzees are endangered because of both humans tiring down forests, but also because of the animals at the top of the food chain eating too much of that kind of animal.
